Symphonie Fantastique
Thursday, April 24- Saturday, April 26, 8 p.m.
One of the most popular symphonic works today, Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique tells the story of an artist who poisons himself with opium in the depths of his despair over an unrequited love. Berlioz himself may have been under the influence of opium while composing the work for his infatuation, an actress whom he had never met.
